Why move power hundreds of miles when you can generate it directly on-site?

That’s why our philosophy at One Energy is to “make the power where you need it.” This week’s Wind View highlights our latest Wind for Industry® project in Woodville, Ohio. These three 1.5 MW wind turbines directly power a local lime quarry, providing 20 years of decarbonization and electricity rate control. By embracing on-site wind energy, the quarry is setting a benchmark for energy independence and long-term cost savings.

As summer hits its stride, our 2024 Megawatt Scholarships are powering ahead! Congratulations to our most recent winners from Whirlpool Greenville. One Energy was thrilled to meet these brilliant students and celebrate this moment with them as they go on to pursue their future in STEM!

Here are a few things we’ve done to eliminate complexity:

• Make power where our customers need it with our on-site Wind for Industry® and Net Zero projects
• Design and build the first fully digital substation in the United States
• Develop a no-touch cable installation process
• Staff a 24/7 in-house control room that allows operators to monitor One Energy’s operating projects and weather around the clock
• Offer in-house Emergency Medical Technician and Advanced Emergency Medical Technician courses for employees
• Host in-house tower rescue training for employees, contractors, and local firefighters

     

We’ve showcased the modern headquarters of One Energy’s North Findlay Wind Campus, where our office decor seamlessly blends open design with functionality, but did you know there’s another functional workspace on campus? The Quonset Hut!

The Quonset Hut is where construction members can build and test new and innovative ideas or check that our equipment is running properly. Whether it’s the One Energy mechanic working on equipment, or technicians performing carpentry work, the Quonset Hut is versatile for whatever job needs to be done next.

These past couple of weeks have been filled with scholarship ceremonies! Congratulations to the 2024 Megawatt Scholarship winners from Ball Findlay, Whirlpool Findlay, and Whirlpool Ottawa! We enjoy meeting all the brilliant students and sharing this special moment with them as they embark on the next big journey in their educational careers!

One Energy was delighted to be chosen as a Rhodesology Summer Camp tour stop! We had a brilliant group of elementary students stop by our North Findlay Wind Campus where they received a tour of the yard, the base of a wind turbine, and our headquarters.
